China In Dance 2018 - Classical Chinese Dance Showcase
At the invitation of the Seattle Huaxing Arts Group and the American Asian Performing Arts Theatre (AAPAT) the Beijing Dance Academy will participate in the fifth annual Across the Pacific: China Arts Festival by the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco, and the second annual Seattle Huaxing Arts Festival from September 26th to October 7th, 2018 touring multiple US west coast cities with a final stop in Seattle.
During this years festival, thirty acclaimed members from the Beijing Dance Academy will be featured in the China in Dance 2018 performance presented by AAPAT and the Seattle Huaxing Arts Troupe. Showcasing two special programs in Seattle - Chinese classical dance classics (October 4-6, 7:30PM) and the Chinese classical dance basic skills, rhythm and technical skills performance (October 6, 2:30PM).
AAPAT is a Seattle based US non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to our mission of Bridging Cultures and Communities through the Performing Arts. Under the leadership of Founder and Artistic Director, Mr. Hengda Li, an internationally recognized and awards winning performer, choreographer, director and teacher, AAPAT has successfully produced more than 30 professional shows including - China in Dance, Rhythm of Dance and Ode to Spring series, and other large-scale productions. These shows have received outstanding praises from audiences, media and experts from the arts communities.
The Beijing Dance Academy is one of the most prestigious dance schools in the world. It is the only higher education institution in China specifically dedicated to training professional level dancers, cultivating the best dance talents in China.
According to Mr. Hengda Li, artistic director of AAPAT, Programs selected for the China in Dance 2018 shows are the most classic and representative of Chinese classical dance repertoires. Titles like The Yellow River, winner of the 20th Century Prestigious Award, Ta Ge, Emperor Qin Reviewing Troops, Butterfly Lovers, Flying Angels, Thousand-Hands Bodhisattva and King Kong all winners of the Lotus Cup.
China in Dance is a series created by AAPAT with a recognized history for the high-quality presentations. The dancers who will be performing in China in Dance 2018 are the finest young dancers from the Beijing Dance Academys Chinese Classical Dance Department. Many of them have won top honors in various Chinese dance competitions, representing the pinnacle of Chinese dance art today.
This talented group of performers visited more than ten countries in Europe and Asia this year, and each of their performances received high accolades and the warmest applause from the audience. This time they come here bringing not only a world-class dance performance, but also a program of classic Chinese classical dances with rich culture. This is the blessing of our Seattle audience. I believe that these two different forms of classical dance special programs will bring pleasures and surprises to the audience in Seattle.
